PLACES TO HAVE FUN:

Frontier City and White Water Bay. Students will love these
amusement parks after a long day of practices and performances.
Frontier City is a cowboy-themed amusement park with
over 50 rides, shows and attractions. In addition to daily
shows, the park plays host to several concerts featuring highprofile
pop and country artists throughout the summer season.
White Water Bay water park is located just 30 minutes away
from Frontier City and features plenty of splashing fun for
youth groups. With seven body slides, four tube slides, a tube
float river and a 500,000-gallon wave pool, students are sure
to have a wet and wild time. Both parks offer group rates and
are open only during summer months.

Bricktown. This historic downtown area of Oklahoma City is a
unique entertainment and cultural mecca in the heart of town.
Students can explore the many shops, restaurants and attractions,
including a ballpark, the civic center, the library, and
several museums and theaters. Groups can travel throughout
the district on water taxis, horse drawn carriages or the
Bricktown Trolley. Be sure to visit the area during the day
because it turns into a 21-and-over area at night.

Oklahoma City

Located in the heart of Oklahoma, this is the state’s
largest city and a center for history and culture.
Oklahoma City offers Western heritage, festivals, professional
sports teams, museums, and a variety of arts
and entertainment districts. Student performance groups have
plenty of venues to choose from and an array of activities to
keep them busy before and after the show.

PLACES TO PERFORM:

Stage Center. Located in downtown Oklahoma City, this modern
theater is operated by the Arts Council of Oklahoma and
can be rented by youth groups for a variety of performances.
Stage Center has two theaters: a round 210-seat theater and a
580-seat stage theater. The center also offers a cabaret room,
dance studio and rehearsal studios. Musical, theatrical and
dance groups should make arrangements early as the theater is
home to a number of professional theater groups.

Oklahoma City Civic Center Music Hall. The center offers
three different theaters of varying size and design. The Thelma
Gaylord Performing Arts Theatre is the largest of the three and
can accommodate all types of shows. It features a proscenium
stage and three tiers of seats totaling 2,486. The Freede Little
Theatre offers 286 seats and dressing rooms. The newest of the
three theaters is CitySpace, which is located in the center’s
basement. CitySpace is a 2,800-square-foot black box theater
that can seat up to 100 people. All of the theaters are available
for rent by youth performance groups when booked far enough
in advance.

PLACES TO PARADE:

Festival of the Arts. Every April, Oklahoma City celebrates all
things art in the heart of downtown. The festival features several
performances by different artists on four outdoor stages.
Youth groups can apply to be a part of the performances and
are encouraged to do so early because space fills up quickly.
