Massachusetts is one of the six states that make up New England. There are several small towns spread across the state that still retain the atmosphere of the pioneering days of old. It’s intriguing indeed! Boston, the bean town is the capital of the state and one of the oldest cities of the country with a unique history. In downtown Boston, Old South Meeting House, Old State House, Faneuil Hall, the Paul Revere House and Old North Church bring to life the American ideals of freedom of speech, religion, government, and self-determination.
Boston has also been called the hub of the universe for university students as it is home to over 50 colleges and universities, including Harvard. To the East lie the beaches of the Cape Cod Peninsula as well as the islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket that together form the regions most popular holiday destination, with historic towns and plenty of walking and cycling opportunities. There are several outdoor activities one can indulge in. Inland Massachusetts is much quieter with coutnless ponds and lakes that shimmer in its folds and hollows, often hidden by deep forests and granite outcroppings. All this makes for much peace, energy and a rich, vibrant, cultural life.
