There are a lot of myths and clich attached to the state of Texas, thanks to the Western flicks churned out every year. But there is so much more to Texas than flat, dry land, hats and cowboys on the range, boots, barbeque, country music and helmet-haired beauty queens. That’s the image of Texas to the world–a land of outlaws, heroic cowboys, gambling and romantic tales.
The cowboys still exist; Texas, however, is much more urban than it’s made out to be. Houston, Dallas and San Antonio are three of the ten largest cities in the nation. Texas today is as much a leader of high-tech industries as it is an agricultural and ranching state.

Geologically, Texas is vast and varied. It is the second largest and second highest populated U.S. state. There are desert plains, woods, beaches, prairies, wilderness, Lakes, canyons and rugged mountains. Texans are unique, self-confident and as unapologetic as ever. Texas boasts a variety of cultures, lifestyles, and opportunities for adventures. Texas is renowned for its climate and liberal social environment. In fact the word Texas is a distortion of a Native American word that means friend. That is exactly what Texas is, friendly and inviting.
