Vermont is distinct. It’s very attractive with a unique, peaceful atmosphere. In Vermont, nature is always close at hand, be it the quaint villages, lofty rolling mountains, cow spotted hills, sugar maples, crystal watered lakes and an occasional wild deer. The state is primarily rural with is surrounded in an old time sense of community, constantly upholding their ideals of thrift and parsimony above commercialization.

Tourism is a major industry in Vermont. For travelers, Vermont remains a superb destination for country drives, mountain rambles, and overnights at country inns. Small cities in Vermont like Burlington, Brattleboro, St. Andrews, Brandon and St. Albans are filled with interesting restaurants, shops and inns. Places like Barre, Bennington, Lyndonville, Rutland, Middlebury and Bellows Falls are treasure troves of 19th and even 18th century architecture.
The Green Mountains are a hiker’s dream. The steep hills also host many of the state’s popular ski resorts, such as Okemo, Killington, Sugarbush, and Mount Snow. Other points of interest are the Green Mountain National Forest, Bennington Battle Monument, the Calvin Coolidge Homestead at Plymouth, and the Marble Exhibit in Proctor.
