Centrally located in New York, Syracuse has a multitude of sports venues for groups to choose from and a variety of things to do after games. Full of culture, art and history, Syracuse is best known for Syracuse University and has many other allures. Sports groups will have no trouble finding places to play as venues are available for virtually every sport thinkable.

 

PLACES TO PLAY:

arrier Dome. This 50,000-seat stadium is the home of Syracuse university football, basketball and lacrosse. High school championships are sometimes played at the dome, which also hosts concerts. It is the largest dome in the northeastern United States and the largest on-campus basketball arena. The Carrier Dome was the site of the 2005 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament CNY Family Sports Center. This 320-seat Syracuse sports center has six outdoor sports fields, two indoor fields and a full gymnasium.Some 45 additional acres can be used for field events, and occer clinics are held. The fields can be used for soccer, lacrosse, softball and football.

PLACES TO HAVE FUN:
Rosamond Gifford Zoo. This Syracuse zoo is home to over 600 animals, including bald eagles, flamingos, penguins and tigers.Famous for its renowned elephant exhibit, the zoo also has a petting zoo, wildlife trails and conservation centers.

PLACES TO STAY:
The Syracuse area has 73 hotels with 6,270 rooms, with all major brands represented.
