Blue Man Group
Blue Man Group in Orlando will offer student groups an in theater program in spring 2009. The morning session, supported by educational materials to help prepare students for the performance, will provide insight on how the show is put together. LOUISIANA Black Heritage Trail
Louisiana has unveiled the first phase of its new African-American Heritage Trail with 26 sites showcasing African-American contributions to history and culture, food and music, and the arts and literature. Among the sites are the Northeast Louisiana Delta African-American Heritage Museum in Monroe, Creole Heritage Folk Life Center in Opelousas, Laura Plantation in Vacherie and the French Market in New Orleans. SOUTH CAROLINA Show Biz Insights
The Carolina Opry in Myrtle Beach offers a new arts education program that gives student performance groups behind-the-scenes insights and advice from cast members. Performers often stay after the session to speak with students in-depth. Groups may request a particular performer or type of performer. Some teachers have students write a paper or do a project on what they have learned.
